When I was first contacted for this advertorial opportunity with Bottomslim, it touched a raw nerve as it reminded me the times when I was still modelling for VGY – John who was my photographer previously scrutinized my body through the lens and observed that under some lighting and standing posture, he could see my cellulite (also known as orange skin) at the back of my thighs. Ugh. I was so affected by it and started to go swimming and jogging but it doesn’t seem to go away. It impacted my self-esteem when I wear shorts and skirts out because John’s reminder of my cellulite is always at the back of my mind. To add on, due to my hectic lifestyle, I do not take proper meals and it was hard to inculcate routine exercise habits.
At the peak of our romance (ahem), I ballooned to a 46kg!? Have you seen my face then?
Ugh. I’m so embarrassed by my weight gain in the past.
Subsequently, my weight went down to a 39kg (at my lowest), stretch marks and cellulite appeared at my butt to thigh area and at the back of my thighs.
Yes, even with a petite frame, I also face lower body issues like cellulite which you will see in the photos below. I requested for the photos to be taken in such a way my cellulite can be seen because only photos can support what I am saying. No one will believe if I insist I have cellulite given my small frame, isn’t it?
Therefore, I jumped at the opportunity to work with Bottomslim this time round as I wanted to see if salon methods will work for removal of cellulite at the back of my thighs.

I was attended to by Agnes, an amicable consultant whom explained the treatment procedures and meticulously personalized a lower body analysis for me. The lower body analysis which I will further explain below.
I was also made to fill up a form and I shocked Esther because under the question for meals intake a day, I circled only dinner and stated my dinner is always after 10pm :/
I should really start taking note of the time and eating normally ya? :(
I was brought into a comfortable and quiet treatment room where the lower body analysis was carried out.
Read on, I discovered something shocking about myself :/
Agnes took my measurements and I was actually underweight at 40.9kg!
Even my BMI falls below 19! I’m malnutrition!
All along I thought given my height, my petite frame, my weight is acceptable :/
I am sure when John reads this, I will be made to eat 2 bowls of rice –.-
I do eat alot at a single go but I guess irregular meals, high stress levels and lack of sleep resulted in my weight loss and also cellulite formation.
Initially I have wanted Bottomslim to work on my tummy area but trust me, after I seen how much and how obvious my cellulite was, I insisted to have the treatment done on my thighs instead! :(

There were a total of 2 separate treatments mainly the Ionto and then Thermal Infra Red Therapy.
Ionto is a treatment using electric current directly on the treated area. The high pressured electric current sends microwaves to the localized areas to reduce fats/cellulite and unsightly flabby body dimensions.
This treatment is painless and absolutely comfortable!
I was afraid at first when I heard this treatment sends electric current to break away the cellulite and was trembling while lying on my stomach. I asked “are you going to start soon?” to which Agnes replied “I am actually going it right now haha”. It was that painless and comfortable!
The second treatment as you can see from the photo below is Thermal Infra Red Therapy where it further breaks down the cellulite and tones the muscles. At this procedure, I felt stinging hot sensation due to the radiation heat but it was bearable :)
This second step lasted for approx 15 minutes.

The result is pretty shocking to me as it was my first treatment here.

Bottomslim is absolutely horrible. They called me and I booked an appointment, and they told me it would take 2 hours. I read Donna's (ponyonhighstreet) blog and she stated it would take about an hour. The lady on the phone told me it would take 2 hours, so I just agreed. Before appt, I did a lot of research online on the reviews, and literally all of the reviews are bad reviews (apart from bloggers ad reviews)I was quite skeptical but
ReplyDeleteI still went along for the appointment, it was quite ok at the beginning, the girl was friendly. Then I was brought into the consultation room and had SUCH a horrible time from then on. For a whole entire hour, I was made to sit there and listen to them hard sell their packages to me. The package was $688, and they said the 5 treatments were: 1- Arm, 2- Tummy, 3- Hips, 4- Thighs, 5- Calves.
Each will only take 10 minutes, WHICH MEANS 2 hours there, only 50 minutes is treatment, 1 hour+ of them talking you into buying their packages.
The girl said it wasn't gonna have much effect since it is 1 treatment per place(arm/tummy/hip/calves/thighs). I thought I could choose all 5 treatment for my thighs since that was what I answered the google docs thing. But anyway- they said it wouldnt have much effect so i should sign all the package.
They continued hard selling the package, I explained to them I cannot afford it and they asked me how much I was willing to/can pay. The thing is, I didn't even intend to pay a single cent because it was a free treatment after all? I told them I didn't intend to buy any packages, but since they wanted me to name a price, I said $400 (the package was $688). Immediately, the girl went out of the room, she said she was going to ask her manager. After a while she came in and she said the manager allows me to pay $400. I kept insisting I didn't want to buy the package.
After that, the manager came in and now it was her turn to hard sell. It was so freaking irritating. I told her I didn't want to buy any packages since I am only 20, and I came up with the excuse of having to ask my mom first, plus i am only a student. You know what she said? 'AIYA you 20 years old still need to ask mother meh'. I told her I didn't want to rely on these treatments as well as I do regular exercises, just wanted to try this free treatment. She said 'Exercising dont work one' and she started telling me how she tried exercising but didn't lose weight.
I was so frustrated by then, and I kept staring at the door. I am pretty sure I showed enough body language that I did not feel comfortable there, and the manager even put her leg out, somewhat 'blocking' me from leaving the place.
She kept saying how good the package was, and said that she could throw in some better treatments (the one Donna did) for me IF I TELL MY FRIENDS HOW GOOD THEY ARE AND RECOMMEND THEM!! HOW OUTRAGEOUS. really, they are SUCH a scam. You think I would want to recommend my friends to listen to you hard sell?! No way.
After endless of hard selling and me giving all the excuses, they asked if I wanted to start on my 5 treatments. I immediately said 'no, I didn't know it would take this long and I am in a rush'. No way am i gonna be doing the treatment with them hard selling the whole while. They asked me when did I want to do my treatment then, I just told them I would call. Obviously not calling ever again.
Bottomslim only treats bloggers nicely, give the good treatments. I spent one entire hour there listening to them hard sell and ended up not doing my treatment. Never believing in such things anymore.
You can ask them if they really hard sell like crazy, money minded company. They deserve all the bad reviews, really.
Tricia don't be conned, they only treat bloggers a lot better cos you guys are advertising for them.
The 5 treatments we readers get isn't even the one you are getting. That's just pathetic.
The one I went to is the Citysquare branch. What awful service, never ever stepping into that place again.
To extremely unsatisfied customer: Tricia is gonna come back to u n say there is a misunderstanding or miscommunication after having check with bottom slim. And goes on to explain for them. The problem that it happens with her advertorials having prob is because she only believes her sponsers but nv once believe us readers when we tell her our encounters.

The staff were nice and I have bad cellulite like Tricia so I took a small student package. I think everyone who signed up for the promotion have real problems and want to see results. Nobody can force anyone to sign things they have no interest in so stop being jealous that Tricia is popular and well liked! I've tried all her recommendations from hair to now slimming and seen real results so I will definitely continue to support her.

And therefore i clearly understand how the above reader felt when she was in such a situation. When it happened to me and TB came back with an absurd and totally untrue explanation, the first thing that came to my mind was i sld have film down the whole process. ANYONE, i swear in that kind of situation would felt equally as upset. And i am of cause glad that u did not get to experience it. And i was so disappointed that i tell myself this was a lesson learnt and just move on instead of making things difficult for Tricia, demanding an explanation and stuff like that.
Even thou i'm disappointed and no longer get tempted by her advertorials, I AM still supportive of VGY. I still purchase from her collections online. I am definitely not being personally. So i would appreciate that u take back your sentence of "n so stop being jealous that Tricia is popular and well liked". Do you see any sentence of mine from above like" ew, she is so ugly, fake pretentious and stuff like that?" That is clearly jealousy.
I agree that no one can force us to purchase anything, but its the process of hard selling that we have to go thru that scares us off this advertorials. For me, TOTALLY. What I'm trying to tell the reader above is just to move on, because most likely, BOTTOMSLIM will come back with their own absurd explanation. And who else but herself can vouch for the unkind service that she/we had to experience.
And i also had an unpleasant experience from another advertorial by another blogger. And when i brought it up to her. First thing she said was she was terribly sorry that i have to face with such thing and she told me she knew exactly how it felt because she met with such situation in her daily life too. and carry on o follow up with my feedback with such commendable service. That left a really deep impression and boy, was i glad that i was her reader.
And to Tricia, i'm sorry that the above comment sounds harsh. I was overwhelm with anger n disappointment to have word it that way. I know your limitations as a blogger too. I am still a loyal supporter of VGY apparels despite my unpleasant encounter with TB. U and TB are separate issues, i know that very well.
and i want to mention this as well. when i wrote back to the blogger tellin her how touched i am with her reply and her implicit trust on her readers. She replied back saying this: "i've only known my sponsers for 2 months till date but you readers have been with me for months or even years." Implicit trust is in the form of action, not just words and i hope my readers felt it too" I was so deeply impressed that i showed it to all my frens who will always support their webstore as well as her advertorial. Such modesty and humble manners even when she is extremely famous.

I am 151 and I'm 47kg. :( I used to be 56 and overweight. Took me a long time to reach 47kg and I'm starting to feel better about myself because I can now fit into size 6 and 8 clothes but reading that you felt embarrassed at 46kg standing at 155cm in this post made me feel terrible all over again. :( :(
ReplyDeleteThe sad thing is, I don't eat alot although I eat my 3 meals and I do a 4km run 2-3 times a week but I just won't go any slimmer or lose anymore weight. I can't sustain eating lesser than what I'm already eating cos it makes me soooo hungry and I get fainting spell. Any advice?
Actually, anybody will look like they have cellulite if anybody squeezes the back of their thighs like that in your 'before' photo. The 'after' photo should also show the same 'squeezed' area of the thigh for a better comparison.
